Optimus Prime was created as the last of the Thirteen Primes, the first generation of Transformers, each created directly by Primus as a band of unique warriors to combat and defeat Unicorn. Upon his creation, Optimus united the Thirteen by his greeting All are one. [Megatron] was once brothers-in-arms with Optimus and a student of Sentinel Prime, appointed to be Cybertron's Protector and commander of its Defense Force. But there was more to Optimus than meets the eye. Optimus is actually a direct descendant of one of the Primes (Prima, to be specific) In the 1984 cartoon series, the Aerial bots travel 9 million years to the past and meet Orion Pax and witness him being rebuilt into Optimus Prime. So if we consider Optimus's age just from that point onward then he's 9 million years old and possibly much older if we figure in his time as Orion.
